Hello, my name is Annie. I have held previous roles within the training and development fields in both retail and logistics, taking me far and wide across the country. Being a corporate trainer meant that I was helping people to learn new things, but I always felt this was too much of a “one size fits all” approach, and that I could help them on a deeper level, to positively affect their long term future.
I soon realised that I’ve always had an interest in people, and more importantly relationships. Some of the courses I delivered touched on human behaviour and the psychology behind it, and that was it….. I knew what I was interested in and followed my interest from there! I find supporting people to support themselves is incredibly rewarding for them in contrast to a formal academic approach.
Having spent a lot of my career in the corporate world. I felt I needed to change to satisfy my own learning, and to make more of a personal difference to people; and the more fascinating people that I meet, the more I believe the mantra that “we should all pay attention to our feelings, as they are telling us something important about ourselves”.
My experience involves working with female survivors of childhood sexual abuse, across a diverse range of cultures and ages, helping clients to live a better, and more fulfilling quality of life, one that is based on their choices, on their terms for the future they want for themselves.
We all have a tendency to put others first, but in doing so, we can sometimes neglect our relationship with ourselves. Counselling can show you a kinder, gentler way to treat the most important person in your life, you.
