Deciding to come to counselling is a very personal and private thing to do.

Due to the nature of confidentiality and privacy, I don't ask for testimonials when clients finish their work with me.

However, I have received some lovely feedback which details more about how I work as a "Walk & Talk Therapist" and my personal style of working.

" Walking and talking with you has been one of the most enjoyable, liberating and best decisions of my life. I feel so ‘in tune’ with me.

The situation of walking outdoors in a private location with only me, you and sheep or cattle to listen in, interject or even observe, was new to me but totally marvellous! I’m not one for sitting in a room when I can be outdoors, breathing in fresh air and stomping around a field and the wonderful location just encouraged me to talk and breathe and, if needed, cry and shout.

Annie, you have a lovely gentle way of digging in deep! You asked the questions that I didn’t even think of and which were so thought provoking! Plus, that wonderful way you have of asking the really honest and sometimes uncomfortable ones at the end of our session so I could go away and mull things over … believe me I did!

I firmly believe that I have come through a difficult time in my life stronger and happier with your superb counsel and support. I looked forward to walking and talking with you every session because whilst I was in the midst of a life changing event, I was finding so much relief from talking with someone who had no preconceptions, no judgement and gave me clarity of focus on me and my feelings.

I can recommend walking and talking with you, Annie, to anyone and everyone, we should all have such a gentle thought-provoking professional to hand in times of need."

I would highly recommend Annie. A warm welcome from the very start, it felt very natural and being in the outdoors not only clocks your steps up, but also makes it feel less clinical. There are no awkward silences when you’re walking. It feels natural.

Annie has really transformed my life by helping me process some really difficult stuff from my past (CSA) and the complexity of my life at the moment. I came to Annie full of the feeling of guilt and shame about what had happened to me some 35 years ago; I was tearful and full of self-doubt. Over the course of our sessions, she has given me the tools and strength to challenge these thoughts and look at them from a different perspective. I can’t stop the feelings still coming into my head, but I can handle them and redirect them now; they are far less consuming and I can challenge myself on those thoughts and deal with them head on. Even my husband, children and friends can see the difference in me!

I have been going for a weekly session with Annie for a year now and although I am feeling much better now and my therapy has drawn to a natural close, (I am in a totally different place mentally than I was last year), I expect to visit Annie again in the future as I know how much being able to talk and refocus my thoughts has really transformed my life.

If you are looking for a therapist, I would whole-heartedly recommend Annie and the walk and talk approach. I feel so privileged that I found her and am ever grateful for how much she has helped me
